The private quarters of Their Honours are located on the
Second Floor. They consist of the Master Bedroom and the
Lieutenant Governor's Den, as well as a room known as The
Library which serves as Their Honours' private living room.
This is where they can relax and read a book, watch television
or listen to music. Originally, when the residence was built
in 1883, the Library was one of two large adjacent bedrooms
on the Second Floor that were separated by folding doors.
Occasionally, with the doors unfolded, they were converted
to a temporary ballroom for large events. One still serves
as the Royal Bedroom, while the other became the Library.
